Abstract
- A new xanthone ( 2 ), 3-(2-hydroxyethoxy)xanthone, and three known compounds, 1-hydroxyxanthone, salicylic acid and the sesquiterpene oplopanone, were isolated for the first time from the rhizomes of Hedychium gardnerianum Rosc. The structures of these compounds were elucidated on the basis of detailed spectral analysis, including 2D NMR experiments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
