Abstract

The author expresses his views on how a fair review can be done for medical research grants in Australia. The author says that the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) gives priority to management of conflicts of interest; and confidentiality is also important for the review system. The author says that the grant review panel should have members with diverse skills, who have expertise for the grants being reviewed.
