Abstract

The authors discuss aspects of the two separate 2015 reports on Alzheimer's disease from the Alzheimer's Association and the U.S. Institute of Medicine. They say that the Alzheimer's Association's report is irresponsible in its attempts to show that investment in biological research in the treatment of the disease could lead to healthcare savings. They also say that the Institute of Medicine's report represents a more balanced and collaborative effort to justify an investment in public health. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
