Why the Waterbuck?

The author explains why the waterbuck or Kobus ellipsiprymnus was chosen to symbolize what has now metamorphosed into the National Parks and Wildlife Management Authority of Zimbabwe. He clarifies that the office was an amalgamation of three different departments and that the adoption of the waterbuck was due to the fact that the other animals were already taken by other game departments in Africa. He also cites that waterbuck occurs throughout Zimbabwe.
