Abstract
- This article discusses the use by producers of labels to make their products stand out in competition. Topics covered include the categories of commonly found food labels, including produce, meat, and eggs/poultry, the meaning of labels such as heirlooms and hybrids under produce, and the definition of labels like commercial livestock breeds, grassfed and naturally raised under meat. Explained also are labels that fall under egg/poultry, such as pasture raised, cage-free, and free range.
