Abstract

The article discusses the study on the multifaceted origins of narcolepsy conducted by researchers Tesoriero and colleagues. It states that the researchers used an innovative methods to manipulate immune system of mouse to examine if viral infection can affect hypocretin neurons and cell groups. It mentions that cellular dysfunction can be induced by viral proteins that can sum up in dendritic spines that will reduce excitatory synaptic activity.
