Implementation Science Workshop: Implementation of an Electronic Referral System in a Large Academic Medical Center.

The article discusses a project undertaken at Brigham and Womens Hospital (BWH) that focused on electronic referral order systems established in the U.S. and internationally with broad uptake by primary care physicians (PCPs) and improved physician satisfaction. It aims to add to the existing literature on eReferral systems by tracking physician satisfaction across an entire health system and using administrative claims to look at the impact of eReferral on total specialist utlization.
