Abstract
- Herein, we use a facile procedure to graft a thin graphitic C<subscript>3</subscript>N<subscript>4</subscript> (g-C<subscript>3</subscript>N<subscript>4</subscript>) layer on aligned TiO<subscript>2</subscript> nanotube arrays (TiNT) by a one-step chemical vapor deposition (CVD) approach. This provides a platform to enhance the visible-light response of TiO<subscript>2</subscript> nanotubes for antimicrobial applications. The formed g-C<subscript>3</subscript>N<subscript>4</subscript>/TiNT binary nanocomposite exhibits excellent bactericidal efficiency against Escherichia coli ( E. coli) as a visible-light activated antibacterial coating, without the use of additional bactericides.
