Abstract

The article discusses the importance of medical forensic examination in sexual assault trials. It mentions that the examination conducted by Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) or Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) to provide immediate care to victim as well as to collect evidence for testimony. It adds that poor medication to victims in hospitals is the reason for initiation of SANE and SAFE program which follows the guidelines from International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN).
