Abstract

The article presents information about the book "Capitalism in Contention: Business Leaders and Political Economy in Modern Britain," by Jonathan Boswell and James Peters. The book studies the social ideas of Great Britain business leaders since 1960, focusing on 170 articulate business leaders who constituted about 25 percent of the total number of heads of the largest enterprises during the period. Addresses the ideology of revisionism as emergent in the early 1960s. Examines the relationships between business opinion and the Labour governments of 1964-70, when revisionism was greatly tested.
