Abstract

Pain is a subjective phenomenon that causes suffering and that everyone experiences at some point. However, non-communicative patients, they can not express the experience of pain in the same way that conscious people. In this paper are discussed the ethical guidelines that should be considered for pain testing in non-communicative patients with research purposes, for pain assistance and improving of quality life of these kind of patients.
