Abstract

The article discusses a study showing that the core-triple shell structured Au@SiO 2 @ Ag@SiO 2 nanoparticles are designed and synthesized by the wet-chemical approach, while the structure is characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and high angle annular dark field scanning (HAADF-STEM). It also proves the effect of SiO 2 as passivation layer on enhancing the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) to improve the light harvesting and reduce interfacial carrier recombination.
