Abstract
- The article reports on the sporadic occurrence of the glander bacterial disease in horses in Punjab, India between 1999 and 2014. Topics discussed include the characteristics and symptoms of the disease, the use of the mallein test to diagnose glanders in horses and the policies in India regarding the control of the disease. Also discussed is the history of the disease in the area and several examples of cases between 1999 and 2014.
