Abstract
- The article discusses the method of efficiency ratings and performance appraisals being implemented in the U.S. federal government as of June 2016. Topics discussed include elimination of performance ratings and its impact on the practice and research of performance appraisal, criteria for developing performance appraisal systems such as periodic appraisals, and use of results as a basis for training, and the legal requirement for performance appraisals for federal employees.
