Abstract

The effect of various factors, such as the roughness parameters, the ratio of the hardnesses of materials of the parts, the average pressure, and the curvature radius of asperities, on the approach in the elastoplastic contact of the flat rough surfaces of two materials with similar hardnesses has been considered. In this case, asperities on the rough surface simultaneously undergo plastic deformation and penetrate into the counterface. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
