Abstract

The article discusses research which indicates that Hispanic American residents living in the U.S.-Mexico border region have less access to healthcare than their inland counterparts, and it mentions the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) survey and the Area Health Resources File (AHRF) information database. The U.S. Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is addressed, along with the claim that many people in U.S.-Mexico border counties do not have health insurance.
