Abstract

The article offers a response to Dan Hicks' commentary on the author's paper "The Temporality of the Landscape." Topics discussed include concerns on the questions of how people should best understand past and present human lives in relation to their surrounding conditions, the author's purpose of writing the article, and Hicks' conclusion that the paper 'fails archaeology today.'
