Abstract

The article discusses the prevalence of the strongyloidiasis, an infection with a soil-transmitted helminth. It highlights the development and the efficacy of both clinical medicine and the public health programs in the management of the disease. It also notes that the parasitic worm can cause a life-threatening hyperinfection syndrome in immunocompromised individuals.
