Abstract

The article focuses on the aspects of several plastics joining technologies for under-the-hood automotive parts applications which involve high-performance engineered polymers. Among the joining processes and technology discussed include the vibration welding which uses heat energy with one part stationary, the infrared welding which uses energy radiated by gray body emitters, and the clean vibration technology (CVT) which involve infrared (IR) reheating.
