PHYSICAL PRETREATMENTS OF ORGANIC SUBSTRATE FOR ANAEROBIC DIGESTION IMPROVEMENT.

Considering the concept of renewable energy that is implemented nowadays very often in correlation to modern society, we focused our attention on the mechanical pretreatment of organic substrate for anaerobic digestion improvement. This process is used to obtain biogas from different types of substrate like organic fraction of municipal solid waste, aquatic biomass, crop residues, animal manure and energy crops suitable for this process. In this context, the paper reviews the mechanical methods that have been studied for pre-treatment of biomass for conversion to biogas through anaerobic digestion process. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
