Abstract: The article presents a note on the possible molecular mechanism of the mesomeric effect in irregular biopolymers (proteins). It says that in biopolymers, which have electronic communication, the shift of the electron density can be spread over large distances. It adds that this corresponds to the mesomeric (M) effect.
