Abstract

An 80 GHz electrical clock signal was successfully recovered from an 80 Gbit=s RZ optical data stream using direct optical injection locking of an 80 GHz InP=InGaAs HPT oscillator. The measured rms jitter is less than 0.31 ps for 2 [sup 31] 1 PRBS data signal. This is the first demonstration of the electrical clock extraction at such a high frequency using optical injection locking of an electrical oscillator. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
