Abstract
- In this paper, an efficient three-dimensional finite-element method (FEM) is introduced to study the scattering from complex three-dimensional objects in the layered media. The proposed method is valid to targets which are located either close to or far away from the media interface. Furthermore, the interface can be either a planar or rough surface in the computational domain. To improve efficiency, the preconditioned conjugate gradient method for normal equations (CGN) are proposed to solve the FEM linear system. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the presented method. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
