Abstract

The article discusses research which examined the rate of failure of each type of surgical interventions for airway obstruction in infants born with Pierre Robin sequence. Topics discussed include the indication for the need for tracheostomy, the proportion of infants that have signficant airway obstruction postoperatively as determined by polysomnography, and mandibular distraction osteogenesis (MDO) as the most effective technique.
