Abstract

We report the synthesis and characterization of lactobionic acid-modified multifunctional polyethyleneimine-entrapped gold nanoparticles for targeted dual mode computed tomography/magnetic resonance imaging. The nanodevice displays good X-ray attenuation properties, good r<subscript>1</subscript> relaxivity, and hepatocellular carcinoma targeting specificity, and can be used for targeted CT/MR imaging of hepatocellular carcinoma in vitro and in vivo.
