Abstract

This article presents news briefs related to political developments in the world, with emphasis on political conditions in the U.S. It focuses the victory of political candidate, Gary Hart in Connecticut. He got 54.9 per cent, Senator Walter Mondale 30.3 per cent and Senator Jesse Jackson 12.2 per cent. It also discusses political campaigns by Senators Mario Cuomo, Daniel Patrick Moynihan and Edward Koch. It is reported that an investigation was conducted regarding the use of chemical weapons in the Iran-Iraq war by Iraq. It refers to the political relations between the administration of U.S. President Ronald Reagan and the government of El Salvador.
