ЦІННІСНА АМБІВАЛЕНТНІСТЬ АБСУРДНОГО.

The article is devoted to modern scientific discussions on the value of significance of the absurd phenomenon in the socio-cultural context. The author uses philosophical—anthropological and axiological approaches, methods of comparativistics. A distinction between the concepts of absurdity and absurdism is introduced. There are two alternative points of view that were formed on the issue of evaluating the absurd. Within the framework of the first, absurdity is mainly classified as a negative phenomenon, while the second considers its positive functions. The tendency of socio—cultural legitimization of absurdity and absurdism is described in both real and virtual space. In particular, the phenomenon of flash mob and subculture of freaks is considered. The arguments of critics of absurdism, who qualify it as a kind of social disease in most cases are analyzed. In the conclusion of the article some areas for further research in this area are identified. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
