Abstract

The conception of information technology (IT) infrastructure was introduced to help organisations so that they could have platforms to share IT services. While many studies focused on different areas of IT infrastructure, very few explored on the analysis of IT infrastructure towards improving services in the public sector. Against this concern, utilising a quantitative research approach and cross-sectional dimension, this study sought to investigate the extent and effect that IT infrastructure flexibility contributes in order to improve services in the public sector of South Africa. Based on the results analysed with SPSS, the key finding of this study revealed that the higher degree of compatibility and connectivity of IT infrastructure relate to the higher degree of improved services in the public sector.
