Abstract

The article presents case study of a 78-year-old man, who had lung cancer with no history of chemotherapy and radiotherapy was admitted to an emergency department with complaints of chest pain, cough, dyspnea, and wheezing. Echocardiography revealed pericardial effusion, and pericardial puncture fluid culture yielded non-fermentative, gram-negative bacteria identified as S. maltophilia. The patient was diagnosed with bacterial pericarditis.
