Abstract

The article is devoted to the complex research of the crisis phenomena results in the Greek polis in the 4-th century BC. The crisis was characterized by the next specific features as a classical slavery and commodity economy and property differentiation of citizens, on the one hand, the concentration of wealth and a poverty on the other hand. The features of the crisis phenomena in the history of Greek polis in the first half of the 4th century B.C. are dealt with the Peloponnesian war in the (4-th century BC). The war led to the ruin of peasant farms, the severance of trade ties and a general decline of the economy. In spite of this fact the polises managed to restore their economy quite quickly and stimulate the development of craft and trade. It's proved by the wide–ranging documental materials that the overall level of the economy in the 4-th century AD did not become much lower in comparison with economic results in the 5-th century BC. Article’s goal in this study is to consider the effects of the Greek polis crisis phenomena in the economy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
