Abstract

The article summarizes the clinical features of gamma knife radiosurgery (GKRS)-induced cavernous malformations (CMs) and compares the GKRS induced CMs with the conventional radiation therapy-induced CMs. It presents the case of a 45-year-old man who was diagnosed of CM. Also mentioned are treatment of World Health Organization (WHO) grade II astrocytomas, possible mechanisms for GKRS-induced CRM, and possible association of GKRS-induced CM and higher risk of hemorrhage.
