Abstract

We propose an advanced LTPS TFT‐LCD technology in which top‐gate oxide TFTs are used in each pixel, whereas LTPS TFTs are used in the drivers and multiplexer in the frame areas. With this technology, we successfully developed a 538‐ppi TFT‐LCD prototype with 15‐Hz frame‐rate driving, a 0.5‐mm width side border, and lower gate driving voltages of +8.6/−8.0 V. Even after conducting a 500‐h driving test at 70 °C, no degradation was observed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
