Abstract
- Here we discuss the accelerating global mean sea level (GMSL) recently proposed by Nerem et al. (2018) in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS). As the results for the past cannot be changed continuously to prove that the models are right for the future, this GMSL is more a sort of computation than a true measurement. Thus the claim is quickly dismissed as flawed. What is disturbing, is the impossibility of open discussions in PNAS papers directly contributed by National Academy of Sciences members even if they are inconsistent. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
