Abstract
- Since the last century, a variety of reactive synthesis methods has been extensively studied and developed to derive ceramic composite materials, which show superior mechanical and physical properties for numerous applications. Melt casting/infiltration is one of the preferred techniques to fabricate ceramic‐metal composites. In this article, different reactive processing routes and the properties of the synthesized ceramic‐metal composites are reviewed. The reaction forming techniques regarding raw material properties and processing parameters are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
