Abstract
- Athens, Greece this summer was unprecedentedly hot, prosperous and full of tourists. Their number astonishes Greece is not like Italy where the smallest town has something to be seen. It has little to offer except archaeology, fragments and sites denuded of all but their history. The most famous examples of Greek sculpture are elsewhere, in London, England or in Munich, Germany. And as for Byzantine art, artists Daphne and Osios Loukas are small pickings. The most important depository in Athens is the new Acropollis Museum. Its collection has the historical unity of all come from excavations made on the Acropolis itself.
