Abstract

The glasses of 50P<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>5</subscript>-30Sb<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>3</subscript>-10CaO-5Al<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>3</subscript>-5TeO<subscript>2</subscript> + xLa<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>3</subscript> were prepared by conventional melting method. The effects of La<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>3</subscript> on the structure, thermal behavior and water durability of glass were studied. Infrared and Raman spectra show that the incorporation of a small amount of La<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>3</subscript> does not cause a fundamental change in the structure of the phosphate glass network, but can significantly improve the chemical stability with the increase of La<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>3</subscript> content. In addition, with the addition of La<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>3</subscript>, a small amount of metaphosphate in the glass was depolymerized and some Q<superscript>2</superscript> units were converted into Q<superscript>1</superscript> units. This series of glass has application prospects in low-temperature sealing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
