Incidence of second solid cancers in mastocytosis patients: a SEER database analysis.

The article discusses research which analyzed the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) program which released the April 2017 standardized incidence ratio (SIR) of second solid cancers in mastocytosis patients. The article explains the SIR assessment of the rate of development of second malignancies. Also mentioned is the statistically increased risk of second cancer driven by the presence of hematologic malignancies.
