Abstract

Hydrolysis of [M<subscript>4</subscript>(hfac)<subscript>4</subscript>(MeO)<subscript>4</subscript>(MeOH)<subscript>4</subscript>] (М = Сo, Ni and hfac is hexafluoroacetylaceton ate) is a convenient way of obtaining polynuclear complexes [Ni<subscript>7</subscript>(hfac)<subscript>6</subscript>(OH)<subscript>8</subscript>(H<subscript>2</subscript>O)<subscript>6</subscript>]•2H<subscript>2</subscript>O, [Co<subscript>12</subscript>(hfac)<subscript>10</subscript>(OH)<subscript>14</subscript>(H<subscript>2</subscript>O)<subscript>8</subscript>]•2H<subscript>2</subscript>O•2MePh, [Co<subscript>12</subscript>(hfac)<subscript>10</subscript>(OH)<subscript>14</subscript>(H<subscript>2</subscript>O)<subscript>4</subscript>(Me<subscript>2</subscript>CO)<subscript>4</subscript>]•3PhMe, and [Co<subscript>12</subscript>(hfac)<subscript>10</subscript>(OH)<subscript>14</subscript>(H<subscript>2</subscript>O)<subscript>6</subscript>(Me<subscript>2</subscript>CO)<subscript>2</subscript>]•2H<subscript>2</subscript>O•2Me<subscript>2</subscript>CO, whose structures were confirmed by X-ray analysis.
