Abstract
- This article examines the relation of kinship, exchanging work, and visiting to the adoption of recommended farm practices. It has been hypothesized that the adoption of agricultural practices is in part a function of the farm operator's primary group memberships. The extent of this influence presumably depends on the closeness of the operator's ties to these groups and on the extent to which farm practices are group-sanctioned. Information pertinent to this problem was obtained in a study wherein all farm operators in neighborhoods in the Kentucky county were interviewed.
