Abstract

This article focuses on the new program of documentary historical coordination, designed to remedy a congenital defect in the U.S. culture. By temperament forward-looking, Americans have been unconscionably careless of their past. the U.S. has gloried each day in the new dawn, in the splendor of which all yesterdays are forgotten. U.S. has its small band of Historical Society devotees and Civil war buffs. Whatever the U.S. Congress may have expected, it could not in the nature of bureaucratic process have anticipated the on rush of the present enterprise, which now promises to rescue from oblivion.
