Abstract

The article offers information on importance of Cluster of Differentiation 1a (CD1a) for leishmaniasis diagnosis. Topics discussed include challenges in leishmaniasis diagnosis involves organisms are less than abundant and requiring the visualization of the amastigote; cases of Cutaneous leishmaniasis with visible amastigotes were stained with hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) and CD1a; and staining power of CD1a is species-dependent.
