Abstract

The paper offers an analysis of the influence of the population ageing on the social insurance company expenditures in the Slovak Republic Regions. The explored dimensions comprise old age economic dependency index and ageing index. The population ageing represents a major issue for the social insurance system in the future. The methodology employed for the carried out analysis is the analysis of sensitivity in a form of the regression analysis for the panel data. The territorial aspect of the regression model is represented by the self-governing regions. Also, a comparison of the estimated regression coefficients is performed in order to get a view of the fixed effects model and the random effects model. The analysis outcome reveals the fact that the social insurance company does not allocate the enough expenditures for the population of the low-income self-governing regions as it would be necessary. Instead of this, the expenditures are higher in the more developed westernmost regions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
