Abstract

The article discusses about revelations of the extent of Nazi intrigue that have started spy hunts in many neutral capitals. On April 13, 1940, the Berlin press broke out in banner headlines asking, on the strength of a report attributed to the "London correspondent" of the Washington "Star," whether British invasion of Holland was imminent. Simultaneously the German Foreign Office issued a warning to neutrals apparently based on the same article. On investigation it turned out that the story quoted was not the work of the Star's London correspondent but that of Constantine Brown, who contributes a regular column to the paper on international affairs.
