ICP GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES: PORTABLE SOLAR POWER CELLS.

Canada-based ICP Global Technologies, the largest manufacturer of consumer solar power products, has produced several prototype jackets and backpacks incorporating built-in solar power cells. The cells are capable of charging such items as mobile phones, hand-held game consoles and portable CD players. The solar power cell technology is based on ICP's iSun Military P3 lightweight portable charging system which is used by soldiers and other military personnel. The P3 is said to have twice the power to weight of alternative products and supplies power even in cloudy and overcast conditions. It is very compact, fully weatherproof and ultraviolet-resistant. Although it was originally designed for the military, the P3 can be used in various applications for which battery charging is necessary while the user is on the move.
