Abstract
- This article focuses on the international relations between countries. Reports from the Spanish front during the past week indicate that the government forces have recovered almost completely from their disastrous setback in Aragori. Konrad Henlein's demand that the Czech government revise its basic foreign and domestic policy to accommodate German dictator Adolf Hitler's Drang nach Osten has precipitated, a crisis sooner than anyone anticipated. The possibility of a peaceful settlement seems slight. Those who talk of transforming the Czechoslovakia Republic into a federation of cantons on the Swiss model betray an ignorance of geographical realities. Prime Minister Eamon de Valera won victory of his tempestuous political career in the treaty just concluded between Ireland and Great Britain.
