Abstract

The article offers information on several terms which are used during measurement of permeability and erodibility testing of soils. Topics discussed include information on permeability which is the ability of a porous material to allow the passage of a fluid, Darcy's law, as per which velocity of the flow of water through a soil is directly proportional to the hydraulic gradient; and information on laminar flow.
