Abstract

ATP-dependent DNA ligase, which catalyses a covalent repair of phosphodiester breaks induced in DNA by DNAase I, was isolated from chromatin of bone marrow cells of rabbits and purified (more than 400 times against its original state). A major part of the chromatin DNA ligase represents an activated adenylate ligase · AMP complex. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
