Abstract

Pure and (8%, 12% and 16 wt%) Co-doped BiFeO<subscript>3</subscript> (BFO) samples were synthesized by the gel-combustion method. The obtained samples were subjected to the powder XRD, FE-SEM, EDX, TEM, VSM, and hemocompatibility studies. The structural changes (pure crystalline phase to mixed crystalline phase) were observed in BFO with increased Co concentration in the XRD studies. The FE-SEM and TEM images showed the morphology of the samples, which indicates that spherical/bricks shaped particles were formed. According to the VSM analysis, a change in ferromagnetic behaviour was observed increasing the Co concentration BFO. BFO and doped BFO nanoparticles samples have good biocompatibility has been from the hemocompatibility test analysis. The electrochemical behaviour of BFO and doped BFO was also studied by the cyclic voltammetry (CV) analysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
