Abstract

This article presents information on various socio-political developments around the world. In view of labor conditions in Canada incident to demobilization and the sudden cessation of the production of war munitions, the Government has passed an Order-in-Council providing for the appointment of an official, to be known as "director of labor research and employment service." The duties of this official will be to treat with provincial Governments as to the establishment and development of employment offices, the standardization of such offices, and their coordination into a national system and to supervise labor clearing-houses and to negotiate the annual agreements between the Dominion and the provincial Governments required under the employment offices and coordination act.
