Abstract
- The article explores American President Donald Trump and his use of economic and trade sanctions, tariffs and consequences as a political tactic. Particular focus is given to how in May 2019 he vowed to impose tariffs on Mexican imports unless Mexico addressed the influx of undocumented immigrants to the U.S. The author refers to this tactic as dollar-driven diplomacy and cites U.S. relations with North Korea and China as well.
